Dr. Seuss' Birthday
The 1st graders celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday by reading a bunch of his books. The teacher also mentioned ahead of time that she wanted to get hat shaped cookies (a la Cat in the Hat) for the kids to "paint" with red & white frosting, but said that she didn't know where she could get any... so I offered to make them for the class. The kids had a blast making (and eating!) the cookies. Kaira also brought her stuffed Cat in the Hat for the day.
Return of the Toothless Wonder
Kaira lost her other front tooth... and she also wrote a pretty funny letter to the Tooth Fairy...
Honor's Chapel
Kaira got the '120 Award' at her school... each week they have 10 spelling words, plus two bonus words. If they get all of the words right for all of the spelling tests the entire period (120% on each), then they get the 120 Award. She also had straight A's again this quarter (but they don't start doing honor roll for grades until 2nd grade)

At the park, riding her scooter that she got from dad for Christmas - she loves it!
Bikes & Water
Kaira & I went with some friends to ride bikes on a trail that runs around small lake in town. The girls had fun riding for a bit... then decided it would be more fun to take their shoes & socks off and splash around in the water instead.
GloPuttz
At a birthday party for a classmate and a new indoor glow-in-the-dark miniature golf place that just opened up in town. Lots of fun.
SciPort Field Trip
The first graders at Kaira's school got to go on an all day field trip to SciPort. The field trip happened during my spring break, so I got to tag along with them for the whole day.
